UPDATE: No Tsunami Threat to Hawaii

There is no tsunami threat to Hawaii after a powerful 7.0 earthquake on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

The earthquake happened around 7:30 a.m. HST.

 A tsunami warning was in effect for coastal areas of Alaska’s Cook Inlet and southern Kenai Peninsula.
