South Africa to host flurry of travel trade shows

South Africa will be host to no less than four travel trade shows in April and May this year and will once again welcome delegates from across the world.

In Cape Town, the International Luxury Travel Market will take place from April 15 to 17, the World Travel Market (WTM) from April 15 to 20 and We Are Africa April 16 and 17. Durban will host Indaba from May 8 to 10.

Cape Town has been experiencing severe drought conditions over the past few months. It is for this reason that WTM Africa has announced it will work with the City of Cape Town to ensure that its attendees understand how water can be saved within the tourism sector and how exhibitions can use less water.

“[The Cape Town International Convention Centre] has excellent water policies in place, and there will be sufficient water available for all events over the period. We are, however, encouraging all of our delegates to ‘save like a local’ and ensure they use only their daily quota when visiting the Mother City,” said Chardonnay Marchesi, portfolio director for Reed Exhibitions’ Africa Travel Week.

For U.S. travel professionals wanting to attend these shows, South African Airways is offering trade fares from New York and Washington to Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. Specials start from $550 (restrictions apply) in economy class and from $4,650 (restrictions apply) in premium business class.

For reservations and complete details on these exclusive fares, conference delegates should download the application form by visiting http://bit.ly/SAA2018INDABAFares and call SAA Reservations at (866) 359-7227.
